Sandals should feel secure and supportive the moment you put them on — no pinching, no overhang, no sliding. Here's a quick guide to getting your size and fit right.
How should sandals fit?
A well-fitting sandal holds your foot fully on the footbed with no toe or heel hanging over the edge, keeps your arch aligned with the sandal's support, and stays secure when you walk without straps digging in. Snug, supported and stable — not tight.
How to measure your feet
Stand on a sheet of paper, trace around your foot, and measure heel-to-toe and across the widest part. Measure both feet (they're often slightly different) and use the larger one. Measure at the end of the day, when feet are at their largest.
What if I'm between sizes?
For Sole Mate bases, if you're between sizes we recommend sizing down for a secure fit. In general, a sandal that's a touch snug beats one that's too big and lets your foot slide forward.
Sole Mate sizing at a glance
- Bases: sizes 36–40, in With Arch or Without Arch.
- Tops: sizes 36–39.5 — order the same size as your base.

Signs your sandals fit right
- Your whole foot sits on the footbed, nothing hanging over.
- The arch support lines up with your arch.
- Straps feel secure but don't press or rub.
- You can walk without your foot sliding forward.
